Creator Statement
My Grandmother Died And Left Me Everything. Now They Hate Me was inspired by the tension between family and the traditions we inherit, whether we are ready for them or not. I wanted to explore what happens when a young woman is forced to step into a legacy she doesn’t fully understand and discovers that protecting it may mean confronting the people closest to her. At its heart, the series is about the reclamation of family, culture, identity, and the parts of ourselves we have been taught to silence.
