Creator Statement
I created Splitlight to explore how easily control can disguise itself as love, protection, and care. Sometimes the biggest red flags don’t look like red flags when you’re living through them. They look like attention, affection, or someone simply wanting the best for you. It’s often only in hindsight that certain moments take on an entirely different meaning. Through Zara, I wanted to explore what happens when your instincts are telling you something isn’t right, but someone you trust has taught you to question them. At its heart, Splitlight is about finding your way back to your own voice.
