Creator Statement
I created Besties in 2018 to explore the complicated space between friendship, love, heartbreak and the things we do to avoid dealing with what we really feel. I also wanted to tell that story in the language audiences were beginning to consume on social media. At the time, I called Besties an “ultra mini series” because there wasn’t really a name for what I was making. Years before micro drama became an industry term, Besties was built as short-form narrative storytelling made specifically for social platforms.
