Creator Statement
HAUNTED BY YOU explores the place where love, grief, and obsession become impossible to separate. Growing up in Siberia, dark fairy tales became one of the biggest inspirations for my work, and I’ve always been drawn to stories where romance, danger, and the supernatural coexist. As a director, I wanted the supernatural elements to grow organically from that emotional reality. Visually, I approached the series as a dark gothic romance: sensual, intimate, and increasingly unsettling, where desire and danger often occupy the same frame. Aidan needed to remain seductive even as he became frightening, so we understand why Mia cannot simply walk away. Beneath the ghost story, HAUNTED BY YOU is ultimately about possession in both senses of the word, and the dangerous moment when “I love you” becomes “you belong to me.”
