Creator Statement

Pride and Prejudice is the story of two people who are wrong about each other before they are right—and that is why it never ages. We wanted to keep that heartbeat and let everything else breathe: Lizzie tears through the countryside on a bike, Darcy keeps blocking her road with his car, and neither can decide whether to kiss or hit the other. Underneath the wit is something we all recognize: the fear of being loved for the wrong reasons. Watching two proud people risk that anyway is, we think, the most romantic thing there is.
