Creator Statement
We created RelationshiTs out of a fascination with the beautiful, ridiculous, and sometimes brutal ways we try to heal ourselves—and each other. At its heart, it’s about the stories we tell to survive our relationships, and what happens when the truth finally breaks through. We wanted to make something fearless, funny, messy, and deeply human, where women are allowed to be complicated and healing doesn’t look pretty. We hope audiences laugh, cringe, recognize themselves, and maybe leave a little more willing to tell the truth.
Filmmaker Bio
RelationshiTs was created by Lacy Marie Meyer, Sayra Player, and Carlos Cardona, a New York–based team of filmmakers and performers united by a love of bold, character-driven storytelling. Together, they form the production company Truth Tonic LLC. Meyer and Player are award-winning actors, writers, and producers, while Cardona is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and director. Together, they bring their distinct perspectives and years of independent filmmaking experience to RelationshiTs, a darkly comedic exploration of sisterhood, intimacy, truth, and the beautifully messy ways we try to heal.
