DO NOT DISTURB: Moms, Neighbors & Other Boundary Issues

DO NOT DISTURB: Moms, Neighbors & Other Boundary Issues

Mothers call. Neighbors leave voicemails. Boundaries disappear.

This comedic double feature brings together two inventive vertical series about the voices that refuse to leave us alone. In The Mom Calls, a 35-year-old daughter pays $175 a week to unpack the constant calls, death reports, HOA battles and unsolicited advice of her lovably toxic Louisiana mother. In Voicemals from my Neighbor across a New York City hallway, an actor transforms her neighbor’s real, unfiltered voicemails into full-body, one-take interpretive dances—translating every word, tangent and observation into movement.

Together, the shows find humor, affection and unexpected creativity in family dysfunction, shared-wall intimacy and the people who simply will not stop calling.
